One of the most widely known massages is the Swedish massage. The technique uses five styles of strokes. The five basic strokes are kneading, rhythmic tapping, friction, vibration and sliding/gliding. All this is combined with movement of the joints. Swedish therapy can be both relaxing and energising as it relieves muscle tension and may even help after an injury.

Neuromuscular Therapy Massage:

This type of therapy is a form of soft tissue manipulation therapy. Its aim is to treat underlying causes of chronic pain, involving the muscular and nervous systems. Being a medically-orientated form of massage, it addresses trigger points, circulation, nerve compression, postural issues, and biomechanical problems that can be caused by repetitive movement injuries.

Deep Tissue Massage:

This type of massage involves working on the body with pressure. The technique uses slow, deliberate strokes that deliver pressure on layers of muscles, tendons, or other tissues deep under your skin. This technique is less rhythmic than other types of massage, but it can still be quite therapeutic. It helps relieving chronic tension patterns and helps with muscle injuries. For this type of massage, the therapist places warmed stones on certain areas of the body, such as acupressure points, using them as massage tools. They may also be left on the body for a temporary time. Hot stones can be quite soothing and relaxing as they apply heat deep into the body when used alongside other massage techniques.
